Cheryl Bolas
My beautiful wife Cheryl passed away
on May 25th after a long battle with breast cancer. She was peaceful, pure, and
radiant. Her daughter Erika was singing to her in the morning, we held her, and
she quietly slipped away.
Her life was fun! She gave her attention to the good things, and spent her time
refining details of the beauty around her. She shared real emotion. She laughed
and cried with joy. Every day was learning and every bite was savored - from
bookstores and a grilled cheese in her New York City, to paddleboats and a
burrito in Echo Park - from Versailles fountains and a croque monsieur in
Paris, to sunset conversation and a scropino in the square of Capri.
She lived and shared the wonder of a child, the happy joy of being a little
girl, and her charisma with colors (especially pink!). Floating between dreams
and living in a moment - was reading and art. . . she was always reading,
always creating. She would plan where she would go, but loved where she was.
She taught us to marvel at pretty
tulips and to sing loud with celebration - Above all, to love our families!
I miss her. And I know you do too. She gifted us with a light, a beauty, and
her smile. The brightest smile I have ever seen. She was my "kookla".
. .
We all have a new angel. She sings and flies with her bluebirds.
And in your heart - you will see her
over the rainbow.
